Yes, if you pay attention, the damage models are all the same each time you crash. Apparently Gran Turismo 5 will have dynamic damage, where the damage on the car will be different for different types of crashes.

Last night I threw ~460HP into one of these:

And managed a 11.079. That thing is a beast. I plan to race the Veyron tonight in the mile and see how I fair.

I just watched the video. Meh that's hardly damage. He hit a wall 10 times and all it got was scrapes and paint missing. It didn't even look like the body was crushed at all.

Honestly I wouldnt worry too much about body damage in a Sim racer with this type of magnitude. It's not going to be realistic and still fit on a disc (or 2 in the case of Forza).

Just depends where you draw the line. Forza has decent crumple but crashing head on into a car at 150MPH and your car is going to be in a million little pieces. Especially if its a fiberglass car. Sure it has flips and rolls, but the body damage doesnt match up with it. IMO its just as unrealistic as having no body damage at all.

I think GT will be an incredible game and likely better than Forza in regards to actual racing... whenever it comes out.

Two things I've noticed: the AI still drives like a pack of angry teenagers, and the soundtrack is rather terrible. Luckily I can just run playlists off my computer while playing.

also, what the fuck at unicorn cars. raced against S204, spirit R and camaro RS, but can't buy them. only minor niggle though.
